Versteeg traded to Panthers for Picks
The Philadelphia Flyers have traded underperforming forward Kris Versteeg to the Florida Panthers for a second-round pick in either 2012 or 2013, and a 2012 third-round pick previously acquired from the San Jose Sharks.
Hopes were high when the Flyers acquired Versteeg from the Leafs in return for a first- and third-round draft picks, but the forward was just never able to match his career seasons with the Blackhawks. In 2008-09, Versteeg had career highs in goals (22) and points (52). Versteeg managed only 7 goals and 4 assists in 27 games with the Flyers last year.
